The Future of Remote Connections and its importance for System Integrators

When:  Jun 30, 2020 from 10:00 to 11:00 (CT)
Covid-19 has made a dramatic change in our world. It has dramatically affected our Medical, Educational, as well as Manufacturing. In response, it has created an acceleration to remote linkages using the Internet for “Doctor-Patient”, “Teacher-Student” and “Supplier-Customer” interactions. It is demonstrating that the need for physical presence to accomplish some tasks may not be that important, and that the Internet can be an efficient alternative that increases responsiveness and reduces costs.
System Integrators are the Doctors, Teachers, and of course the Suppliers to the manufacturing plants they support. Their expertise is relied on for new projects as well as support of existing systems. This virus has disrupted their ability to easily and safely make in person visits, but it should not reduce the importance of the Integrator to keep important processes and equipment operating.
This Webinar is targeted to facilitate and collect input from CSIA members on the use of Remote Connectivity for supporting Machines and Automation Systems. The session will collect details to be used in a Work Group being established by a number of Industry Organizations (OMAC, PMMI, CSIA, and Automation Foundation) to consolidate feedback from End Users, OEMs, System Integrators, and Automation Vendors. The goal is to develop a common outline and guidelines that all companies can reference when making remote connections to real time automation systems.
