Bio

Eric Schaefer is a principal in Stone Technologies, a national Systems Integrator that delivers process control, manufacturing execution and information systems. Stone provides complete automation services from conceptual design through commissioning. Prior to Stone, Eric was a controls engineer and project manager for one of the twenty largest engineering companies in the country for over 8 years delivering successful projects to Fortune 100 companies, including Miller Brewing, Kraft and Post Cereals.

Eric earned a BSEE, cum laude, from the University of Evansville. As a food/beverage controls engineer for over 20 years, he has developed and managed control and information projects for many food and beverage processes and won the “Master Builder Award” for Nabisco’s Oven #4 RTE Cereal project.

Eric has consulted for a variety of Food/Beverage clients in the application of controls and plant floor information systems as well as presented technical papers at major industry trades shows. In addition, Eric has managed projects for Fortune 100 companies from small projects to projects with $20 MM Total Installed Costs, primarily in the Food and Beverage Industry.

Eric wrote and taught “Computer Control in the Breakfast Cereal Industry” for the AACC and was a Developer for International Society of Pharmaceutical Engineers’ training course – “Control Systems & Automation”.
