A system integrator and manufacturer panel discussion.

‎“We can’t deliver the project if we can’t get the parts!”‎

Disruption has been a recurring theme over the past few years, and if you are a part of the ‎industrial automation project delivery ecosystem, the global supply chain has likely caused ‎some disruption for you. ‎

Material scarcity, port congestion, shipping delays, increased freight costs, and demand ‎peaks have become common conversational topics. ‎

But disruption isn’t always a bad thing – digital transformation is disruptive too! ‎

And in the midst of the challenges that 2022 brought, Schneider Electric climbed from #4 to ‎‎#2 on Gartner’s Global Supply Chain Top 25 and was the winner of the award for Process or ‎Technology Innovation, based on its “self-healing” supply chain platform.‎

Join key leaders from Schneider Electric (SE) to hear how digital transformation helped them ‎respond to the disruptive challenges – and how these challenges and responses affect your ‎business. ‎

‎(You might even get some ideas on solutions to help your customers be more adaptive or ‎increase their efficiency!) ‎

In this session, you will:‎
‎• Hear about the factors that impact manufacturer supply and how SE managed them.‎
‎• Learn how to most effectively interact with a global manufacturer on supply chain issues. ‎
‎• Discover ways to pursue projects when product is scarce. ‎

In the past, there was one way to connect PLCs to plant databases and enterprise servers

to leverage cloud and business systems for metrics monitoring, analytics, high-speed sorting, and recipe downloads.

That connectivity was a custom-coded and IT solution including a PC, custom software coding, and protocol translation.

The problem: Custom connectivity is fragile, it’s a support hassle, and the software coding and interruptions never end since you are always learning as you go.

The solution: Rockwell has gotten smart when it comes to OT/IT convergence

and partnered with Softing to provide a built-for-purpose, in-chassis, industrial OT/IT connectivity solution.

Now, there’s a growing shift away from the custom IT, custom integrated, PC & coding solution when it comes to connecting industrial PLCs to IT business systems. The solution now is a no-code, no-PC, and no OPC protocol translation solution using a Logix in-chassis module called tManager to connect the Rockwell PLCs to SQL databases, which is the connectivity enabler for these IIoT solutions.

Attend this session and in just 45 minutes you’ll learn how to:

  • Connect Rockwell PLCs to SQL databases without writing code, without a PC in the middle, and without OPC protocol translation so you can easily deliver track and trace, high speed sorting, and other solution applications
  • Quote and scope projects more accurately
  • Deliver scalable projects
  • Deliver projects that are easier to support
  • Preserve your customers’ product secrets

If you work with Rockwell PLCs and deliver track and trace, high-speed sorting, quality monitoring, metrics monitoring, analytics, dashboards, or recipe download solutions, then this presentation is for you.

Today’s manufacturing environment is a competitive space. Manufacturers aim to deliver the best quality products in the shortest time to maximize bottom line.

In most businesses, manufacturers use Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems to handle business functions such as financial management, purchasing, inventory, sales, analytics, and reporting.

For manufacturers to become more agile and responsive to change and achieve optimal results, it is imperative to integrate OT / shop floor data into the ERP system beyond traditional file or database table exchanges.

Rapid time-to-result solutions with real-time connections to OT, IoT, and widely implemented SAP ERP are needed.

During this 45-minute presentation and demonstration you will:

·       See how OPC Router with visual workflows and certified connectors can bring manufacturing and enterprise together for increased agility for your clients, and more profitable projects for you as the integrator.

·       Gain practical knowledge on how to exchange data between the OT environment (plant floor) and Enterprise systems, such as SAP, without writing custom code or overly expensive solutions.

·       See a live configuration of a bi-directional connection between an SAP ERP system to empower optimized inventory and quality management functions, using OPC Router and it’s certified SAP connector module.

·       Have the opportunity to ask the experts questions, make contacts for project guidance, and receive a whitepaper after the event on OT to SAP integration.

This session is open to all, so share this invite with members of your project implementation teams that are charged with determining “how will we do that?” for your clients!

DevOps principles that have transformed traditional software development are being applied to industrial automation, having a significant impact for system integrators. New tools are enabling SIs to rapidly hire and onboard new talent, maximize productivity and quality across projects, and enhance collaboration across internal and external teams.

In less than one hour, you’ll learn how implementing modern workflows:

·       Streamlines development processes by utilizing Git version control for PLC projects

·       Accelerates hiring and onboarding of new talent by enabling senior engineers to spend less time training and reviewing code from junior engineers

·       Maximizes operational uptime and solves the “10 year problem” -- always knowing the latest version of code and why changes were made, no matter the age of the project

One example is leading control system integrator DMC, which has reclaimed up to 8 hours per week:

“When leading multiple projects, our senior engineers are saving up to a day a week, because of the faster code reviews. Plus, we're reviewing more frequently. We're catching more mistakes before they get deployed or tested. And because we always see the visualized code before merging, we're also making fewer mistakes.”

If you are interested in a discussion about the current state of technology and how you can apply these new tools with minimum disruption, then this presentation is for you.
